Former Chinese justice minister Tang Yijun is facing indictment for corruption and misconduct after allegedly accepting bribes and abusing power. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) accused Tang of helping family members secure financial deals and receiving lavish gifts in violation of the Communist Party’s code of conduct. The CCDI stated that Tang used his position to benefit others in personnel appointments, intervene in market activities, and judicial matters.
The CCDI has revoked Tang’s party membership and public office, confiscating his illicit gains. An investigation found that Tang manipulated market and judicial activities for personal benefit, facilitating corporate transactions and accepting large sums of money. Additionally, Tang was removed from his representative role at the 20th national congress.
