Police Foil Kidnap Attempt on Delta State House of Assembly Member’s Wife, Recover AK-47 Rifles
Three suspected kidnappers involved in a failed kidnap attempt on the wife of a Delta State House of Assembly member were shot dead in a gun battle with the State Police Command. The incident took place at Okoloba Junction Jakpa Road, Uvwie Local Government Area, where two mobile policemen and a driver were killed.
Following the incident, the state Commissioner of Police ordered a deployment around Warri and environs to track down the criminals. Police operatives successfully located the suspects’ vehicle and engaged in a gun battle, resulting in the recovery of three AK-47 rifles.
After further investigation, the police traced the suspects to their hideout in Agbarho, where they engaged in another gun duel. Three suspects were killed and another AK-47 rifle was recovered. The manhunt for the remaining gang members is ongoing.
Thanks to the swift and strategic actions of the police, a potentially dangerous situation was averted and valuable weapons were taken off the streets.
