Over the weekend, armed bandits struck Kanya village in Kebbi State, abducting the district head, Alhaji Isah Daya. The bandits also killed one person, injured three, and abducted a total of eight individuals, including the village monarch.
Kebbi State police spokesperson, Nafui Abubakar, identified the deceased as Sherrif Alhaji Almu and mentioned that a security team led by the police is actively searching for the bandits responsible for the attack. The government of Kebbi State has provided necessary resources to combat banditry in the region, especially in Kebbi South and Zuru emirate.
This incident follows a recent attack where armed bandits killed the APC Chairman of Suru Local Government and abducted another person in Matseri village. The increased frequency of attacks is a cause for concern and calls for swift action to ensure the safety of residents in the area.
