The European Union is stepping in to help flood-affected areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with teams being sent to offer assistance. Luigi Soreca, the head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirmed this news, stating that the EU Civil Protection Mechanism has been activated in response to the crisis.
Following a request for international aid from the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European Union will provide support in the rehabilitation efforts after severe floods and landslides hit multiple municipalities in the country. The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has emphasized the need for international assistance due to the extent of the damage, submitting a list of essential equipment and resources required for the remediation process.
This collaborative effort showcases the solidarity and unity of countries in times of crisis, as the European Union extends a helping hand to support Bosnia and Herzegovina in overcoming the challenges posed by the natural disaster.
