In a daring move, Ukrainian defense forces, including the SBU and SSO, struck the Borisoglebsk military airfield in Russia’s Voronezh region using kamikaze drones on Oct. 3. The attack targeted warehouses housing aerial glide bombs, aircraft parking areas, and aviation fuel storage facilities. Russian social media users reported hearing air defense activity and witnessing explosions and fires at the airfield.
Satellite imagery confirmed multiple fires within the airfield boundaries. This strike is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt Russian bombing raids on Ukrainian territory. The goal is to prevent the enemy from feeling safe, even on their own soil. This is not the first time the Borisoglebsk airbase has been targeted, as it was part of a coordinated assault on Russian airbases back in August.
The Ukrainian forces are determined to diminish the enemy’s ability to threaten peaceful Ukrainian cities with aerial attacks. This latest attack showcases Ukraine’s commitment to defending its territory and disrupting Russian military operations.
