Hawari emphasized the importance of family medicine as the primary entry point for patients in Jordan’s health centers, playing a crucial role in diagnosing health conditions. The ministry’s focus on primary health care and family medicine is part of its comprehensive health coverage plan endorsed by the government in June.
The minister highlighted the significant progress made in family medicine residency programs in collaboration with various healthcare institutions in Jordan. The updated residency program has seen an increase in the number of doctors accepted annually, ultimately enhancing health services in over 500 comprehensive and primary care centers across the Kingdom.
Oraib Alsmadi, President of the Jordanian Family Medicine Specialists Association, underscored the importance of the specialty, noting that the conference will enhance the skills of family doctors and improve overall healthcare quality.
