China’s Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) celebrated National Day with various events, including a flag-raising ceremony, government reception, the opening of a new sea-crossing bridge, and a fireworks show on Tuesday.
The day started with a flag-raising ceremony at Golden Lotus Square. Ho Iat Seng, SAR’s chief executive, emphasized China’s unwavering support for Macao’s prosperity and stability during a reception celebrating the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China’s founding.
The inauguration of the Macao Bridge marked a significant milestone in the city’s development, connecting the Macao Peninsula to Taipa. Furthermore, the bridge is poised to enhance Macao’s tourism appeal and economic diversification efforts.
The day concluded with a dazzling fireworks display as part of the 32nd Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, highlighting the city’s vibrant spirit and global engagement.
