A robbery at a mansion in Cape Town’s exclusive Llandudno neighborhood was solved thanks to fingerprints left behind by the suspects, who turned out to be police officers.The Western Cape anti-corruption unit handled the investigation, leading to the arrest of four suspects involved in the crime.
The first arrest was made on the same day of the robbery, with the latest arrests taking place recently. One of the suspects, a 38-year-old sergeant, was linked to the crime scene through fingerprints. Along with him, a 44-year-old sergeant from Belhar, a 28-year-old constable from Gugulethu, and a 33-year-old sergeant from the Bellville station were also arrested.
This case sheds light on the importance of thorough investigation and forensic evidence in solving crimes. The suspects, who are supposed to uphold the law, were found to be on the wrong side of it.
