Israel Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Southern Beirut
Israel’s military conducted overnight air strikes targeting Hezbollah in southern Beirut. The strikes focused on the densely populated suburb of Dahiyeh, where Hezbollah’s headquarters are located. Residents were warned to evacuate as the IDF targeted missile launchers and weapons storage sites hidden beneath civilian housing.
Reports indicate that the strikes included an attack on Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, although his fate remains unknown. The Lebanese authorities confirmed at least six people killed and 91 injured in the attacks, with casualties expected to rise.
Israel claimed to have killed the commander of Hezbollah’s missile unit and his deputy in southern Lebanon. Despite the escalation, Hezbollah has not confirmed or denied the deaths. The conflict stems from ongoing support for Hamas by Hezbollah, which has been launching rockets into Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected calls for a cease-fire, vowing to continue targeting Hezbollah. The situation remains tense as both sides show no signs of backing down.
