The BJP Holds Key Chairmanships in Parliament’s Standing Committees
Parliament’s standing committees were constituted with Rahul Gandhi as a member of the defence panel. Congress heads four committees, including external affairs led by Shashi Tharoor. Charanjit Singh Channi and Saptagiri Ulaka chair important committees for Congress.
Kirti Azad and Dola Sen from Trinamool Congress will lead standing committees. BJP retains key chairmanships with leaders like Radha Mohan Das Agarwal and Nishikant Dubey.
Other key appointments include Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Basavaraj Bommai heading committees. Kangana Ranaut, Jaya Bachchan, and Priyanka Chaturvedi are also part of committees.
Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will be part of the committee of law and justice. The process of forming standing committees was completed within the deadline set before the end of September.
