Israel Widens Airstrikes in Lebanon as Conflict with Hezbollah Intensifies

Reports indicate that Hezbollah’s top official in charge of Mount Lebanon and North Lebanon, Sheikh Muhammad Amr, was the target of an Israeli strike on Wednesday. Although he was not present, the attack resulted in casualties.

Israel escalated its airstrikes in Lebanon, shooting down a missile allegedly fired by Hezbollah towards Mossad’s headquarters near Tel Aviv. World leaders expressed concern as the conflict intensified alongside Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza.

Hezbollah claimed to have targeted Mossad with a ballistic missile, but the type of rocket remains unconfirmed. Israeli airstrikes have hit deep inside Lebanon, while Hezbollah has launched rockets into Israel.

Deadliest Day in Lebanon

Over 550 people were killed in the deadliest day in Lebanon since the civil war, prompting hundreds of thousands to flee. Israeli strikes continued on Wednesday, targeting south Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, a Hezbollah stronghold.

Expanded Targets and Global Concern

Israel expanded its strikes to various locations in Lebanon, displacing possibly half a million people. The conflict stems from solidarity with Hamas in Gaza, raising alarm among global leaders.
