Egypt and Japan have joined forces in a strategic partnership with over 18 projects valued at more than $3 billion, all aimed at advancing Egypt’s sustainable development goals. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently met with a delegation of 24 leaders from Japanese firms specializing in renewable energy, water management, and business development, as well as representatives from Japanese financial institutions to discuss these initiatives.
Madbouly highlighted the importance of the collaborative efforts between Egypt and Japan, which include projects like the metro’s fourth line, educational programs, and human capital development in Egyptian-Japanese schools. The two countries are also working together on significant projects such as the Grand Egyptian Museum and the enhancement of the Abu Al-Rish hospital.
In line with Egypt’s commitment to renewable energy, Madbouly announced the establishment of the National Council for Green Hydrogen and introduced the National Strategy for Low-Carbon Hydrogen with a target for renewable energy to make up 42 percent of the energy mix by 2030.
