During the UN General Assembly, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides to discuss the friendly relations between the two countries and the importance of deepening cooperation in various areas. Pashinyan also highlighted Armenia’s commitment to the peace process with Azerbaijan, stating that 80 percent of the draft peace agreement has been agreed upon and Armenia is ready to sign it and continue discussions. The leaders also talked about the “Crossroads of Peace” project, which aims to unblock regional transport routes.
Additionally, they exchanged views on Armenia-European Union cooperation, with Pashinyan noting the EU’s support for democratic reforms in Armenia. They also discussed the launch of a visa liberalization dialogue to expand Armenia-EU relations. The meeting was a productive and positive step towards strengthening ties between Armenia and Cyprus.
