Turkey’s Erdogan Accuses Israel of Genocide in Gaza Strip

During a meeting with the International Criminal Court Prosecutor in New York, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of committing “genocide” in the Gaza Strip. Erdogan stated that Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is violating international law and human rights by planning new massacres in the region.

Erdogan presented a photobook called “The Evidence” published by Anadolu, showcasing Israeli war crimes in Gaza. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of holding Israel accountable for its actions and ensuring that perpetrators of genocide face punishment.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, where Erdogan called for the genocide case against Israel to be concluded. He also urged for concrete evidence to be presented to support the claims of war crimes in Gaza.

Local health authorities reported over 41,400 deaths and 95,500 injuries in Gaza due to Israeli attacks over the past year. Erdogan and Turkey have been advocating for accountability in international courts against the Netanyahu administration for the relentless offensive in the region.

Israel, meanwhile, faces accusations of genocide at the UN’s International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza, separate from the ICC.
