A Taiwanese company, Gold Apollo, has refuted claims that it supplied communication devices used in attacks throughout Lebanon. Reports had falsely linked the company to the AR-924 model involved in the incidents.
Gold Apollo set the record straight in a statement, stating, “Regarding recent media reports about the AR-924, we would like to clarify that this model is produced and sold by BAC.” The company emphasized that its role is solely limited to providing a trademark license and is not involved in the design or manufacturing of the AR-924.
The tension escalated when CNN reported that Israel orchestrated an operation that caused thousands of pagers used by Hezbollah members to explode. U.S. officials disclosed that Israel had planted explosives in Taiwan-made pagers imported into Lebanon for Hezbollah, resulting in multiple casualties.
The detonation, believed to be activated by a text message, caused nine fatalities and left over 2,800 individuals injured, with 170 in critical condition. Hezbollah and the Lebanese government have accused Israel of the attack, although Israeli officials have remained silent on the matter.
