The Olugbenga Edema Campaign Organisation of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has expressed disappointment in the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for failing to attend a governorship debate in Edo State. Olugbenga Edema criticized the absence of Dr. Ighodalo Asue and Senator Monday Okpebholo, stating that it shows a lack of respect for the electorate.
The debate, organized by the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, was a platform for voters to assess the candidates’ policies and visions. The spokesperson of the campaign organization, Oluwatosin Ayeni, emphasized the importance of candidates engaging directly with the people they wish to govern.
Edema urged the people of Edo State to reject the PDP and APC candidates at the polls, emphasizing the need for a more responsive and responsible party like NNPP. He highlighted the importance of voters knowing the candidates’ plans for the state’s future and encouraged unity in ensuring their voices are heard during the election.
