Lebanon’s Hizbollah has been engaging in frequent clashes with Israeli forces following attacks by Hamas in Gaza, resulting in casualties on both sides. While efforts have been made to negotiate a truce in Gaza, no discussions have been initiated to stop the fighting with Hizbollah.
Hizbollah’s deputy chief stated they have no intentions of starting a war, but warns of significant losses if Israel escalates. Israel is determined to remove Hizbollah from southern Lebanon to ensure the safety of its northern communities.
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu also addressed the crisis, promising to take necessary actions to bring residents back to their homes. The need for change in the power dynamics along the northern border was emphasized.
