The UAE’s Role in Fueling Civil War in Sudan Exposed
Official documents have revealed the UAE’s aggressive involvement in the civil war in Sudan by providing extensive financial and military aid to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The Sudanese government shared details with the United Nations Security Council about UAE’s support to the RSF militia, which is in conflict with the Sudanese army. Emirati documents retrieved from a military vehicle seized after a failed RSF attack in November 2023 were included in the letter.
The letter exposed classified documents from the UAE’s Presidential Guard and Special Operations Division, revealing details about personnel, weapons, training, and daily operations. The Sudanese government urged the Security Council to intervene and stop UAE’s interference in Sudan’s internal affairs.
The council’s inaction was criticized for enabling UAE’s aggression, causing harm to civilians and destabilizing security in Sudan and the region.
