Russia has accused six British diplomats of spying and decided to expel them, citing their involvement in intelligence-gathering and subversive activities. The expulsions are part of a series of retaliatory measures taken by both countries since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Despite the diplomatic standoff, the UK’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer states that Britain does not seek conflict with Russia and supports Ukraine’s right to self-defense. Discussions between Starmer and President Joe Biden in Washington are expected to address the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, including the possibility of approving the use of long-range missiles against Russia.
