The BJP leadership has approved another foot march to protest against the embezzlement of taxpayers’ money in Valmiki ST Development Corporation. The march is expected to take place from Yadgir to Ballari, focusing on the significant ST population in the region. Leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy mentioned that the march will follow the completion of the membership drive, with details similar to the previous Bengaluru to Mysuru march.
Chalavadi expressed concerns about the state government’s handling of the Valmiki Scam, highlighting the involvement of former minister Nagendra and Corporation Chairman Daddal in the case. He questioned the government’s decision to retain Daddal despite his role in the scam and criticized the formation of the SIT for allegedly giving a clean chit to the accused.
The JD(S) alliance partner will not participate in the foot march, as stated by sources close to party president H D Kumaraswamy. Despite this, the BJP is moving forward with plans for the protest, aiming to bring attention to the corruption within the Valmiki ST Development Corporation.
