Imran Khan, the founding chairman of PTI, has vowed to go ahead with a power show in Lahore on September 21 despite closing the door on dialogue with the establishment, accusing them of deceiving the party. This decision comes after KP chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur made controversial remarks at a recent public rally, leading to condemnation from various quarters.
Imran Khan expressed his support for Gandapur’s comments and warned the establishment of severe consequences for detaining him. He also criticized the government for working on a constitutional package to extend the term of the chief justice of Pakistan, which PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar vowed to resist.
The PTI leader affirmed that the party will continue holding public meetings across the country and oppose any legislation that restricts the judiciary’s freedom. He also condemned the recent arrests of PTI legislators, calling it an “attack on parliament” and vowed to challenge it in court.
Court proceedings in the corruption case against Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi were also under discussion, with the judge adjourning further hearings till September 12.
A new Toshakhana reference related to Bvlgari Jewelry set was issued, with notices sent to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi for a hearing on September 16.
