Russia announced the seizure of another village in eastern Ukraine as their troops advance, capturing Kalynove in the Donetsk region. The village lies southeast of Pokrovsk, a key logistics hub held by Kyiv. Russian forces have been pressing towards Pokrovsk for months, prompting Ukraine to evacuate children from the area.
Despite facing a Ukrainian counterattack in their own western Kursk region, Moscow claims to have taken control of several villages in the area. Putin has stated that Russia’s main goal is to capture the entire Donbas region, consisting of Donetsk and Luhansk.
In 2022, Russia allegedly annexed these regions along with Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, despite not having full control. The conflict continues to escalate as Russian forces push further into Ukraine. Follow our coverage on Telegram for the latest updates.
