The Czech Ministry of Internal Affairs is initiating a pilot project to support the voluntary return of Ukrainians displaced by the Russian war. The project, running from June to November, aims to assist up to 430 individuals residing in the Czech Republic due to the conflict in Ukraine.
The program is not related to military service and is open to foreigners with temporary protection or international status. Minister Vit Rakusan emphasized the importance of assisting those who wish to return home for health or family reasons.
The project covers travel expenses for 400 people with bus tickets and medical transport services for 30 individuals with health issues. Applicants must refund half of the costs if they seek a residence permit within a year.
The Ministry allocated 5,595,000 Czech crowns for the project, addressing the significant Ukrainian population in the country. This initiative aligns with efforts to support Ukrainian migrants in their journey back home.
