The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, congratulated Azerbaijan on the successful snap parliamentary election. The OIC General Secretariat sent a delegation of authorized observers to monitor the election in response to an invitation from the Azerbaijani government. The election, which included the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, was observed from preparations to the voting and counting stages.
The OIC delegation concluded that the electoral process was transparent, free, and well-organized, with high voter turnout. The snap parliamentary election, held on September 1, had a total of 112,749 local observers and 598 international observers from 51 organizations and 69 countries. Out of the 990 registered candidates, 305 were from political parties, and 371 were party members not nominated by their parties.
