Fred Trump III didn’t hold back in his criticism of his uncle, former President Donald Trump, during a recent interview on MSNBC’s Deadline: White House. He denounced Trump’s disrespectful behavior towards soldiers, stating bluntly that “He just doesn’t give a s—t about them.”
Trump’s comments came in the wake of controversy surrounding Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetery, where a member of his campaign staff reportedly had a physical altercation with a cemetery official. The nephew addressed this incident and his uncle’s history of insulting wounded and fallen service members, including calling them “suckers” and “losers.”
Fred Trump expressed admiration for Senator John McCain, whom Donald Trump had previously disparaged by insinuating that being captured during the Vietnam War made him less of a hero. Despite the criticism, Fred Trump emphasized that his uncle’s attitude towards those he deems inferior will not change.
When asked why military personnel support Donald Trump, Fred Trump candidly admitted he had no idea, pointing out that his uncle’s self-centered nature puts himself above all else. Drawing a parallel to The Godfather II, Fred Trump concluded that for his uncle, loyalty to oneself trumps loyalty to country.
