Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, is currently representing King Mohammed VI at the second Indonesia-Africa Forum in Bali. This forum, themed “The Spirit of the Bandung Conference for Africa’s Agenda 2063,” aims to enhance economic cooperation between Indonesia and Africa.
Hosted by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the event includes various heads of state, government leaders, and African ministers. The goal is to establish a foundation for a sustainable relationship between the two regions.
Indonesia’s historic hosting of the Asia-Africa Conference in Bandung in 1955 led to the Bandung Spirit, promoting principles like national sovereignty, equality among nations, and international cooperation without interference. This laid the groundwork for long-term cooperation between Asian and African nations based on justice, solidarity, and mutual respect.
As participants explore avenues for collaboration at the forum, the vision is to create a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable partnership between Indonesia and Africa. The success of this event can further solidify the economic ties between the two regions, building on the achievements of the first Indonesia-Africa Forum in 2018.
