Jugoimport-SDPR, Serbia’s leading state enterprise for arms export, ignored calls to stop sales to Israel amid the conflict in Gaza, where thousands of Palestinians have been killed or wounded. Data shows that 15 flights from Serbia to Israel coincided with arms exports, indicating a close relationship between the two countries.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, described the situation in Gaza as “unthinkable” due to Israeli military actions. Despite concerns of war crimes, Serbia continued arms exports even after calls for a halt by the UN and the International Court of Justice.
The data highlights a controversial trade relationship between Serbia and Israel, raising ethical and legal concerns amidst ongoing conflicts in the region.
