Tens of thousands of Israelis protested in Tel Aviv for an exchange deal with Hamas.
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid joined the protests, urging Prime Minister Netanyahu to go to Cairo for the deal. Demonstrators gathered in Kaplan Square demanding change and a swift agreement with Hamas.
Simultaneously, demonstrations in Haifa and other cities demanded action on families of Israeli prisoners. Families accused Netanyahu of obstructing the deal for political reasons and warned the US to not trust him.
Despite UN calls for a ceasefire, Israel continues its offensive on Gaza, facing international backlash for atrocities. Over 40,000 Palestinians have died, with many more wounded or missing, as a result of the ongoing conflict.
The Israeli aggression has caused mass displacement and famine in Gaza, leading to a humanitarian crisis of unprecedented scale.
