The PDP released its manifesto for the Assembly elections, vowing to restore Jammu and Kashmir to its original state, support confidence-building measures, and advocate for regional cooperation between India and Pakistan.
Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP president, unveiled the manifesto with key party leaders, emphasizing the restoration of constitutional rights and addressing the challenges faced post the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A.
The manifesto focuses on enhancing India-Pakistan relations, promoting diplomatic dialogue, and establishing a regional free-trade area, among other initiatives for the socio-economic development of the region.
Additionally, the PDP aims to address issues such as job terminations, land rights, and employment opportunities, promising to accelerate job creation and revamp government recruitment processes if elected.
Furthermore, the manifesto pledges to facilitate the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits, ensuring their dignified reintegration into society and advocating for religious pilgrimage sites across the Line of Control.
The comprehensive manifesto envisions a holistic approach towards addressing the socio-political challenges in the region and fostering peace and prosperity through constructive cross-border engagements.
