Tragedy struck as the bodies of 28 pilgrims who lost their lives in a tragic traffic accident in Iran were repatriated to Pakistan via a special flight on Friday night. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced compensation for the families of the deceased and injured victims of the Iran accident.
The bodies, along with 15 of the 25 injured persons who were discharged from hospitals, were brought back to Pakistan with the help of a special C-130 aircraft. Among the deceased, individuals hailed from various districts in Sindh, highlighting the widespread impact of the tragedy.
The provincial government made arrangements to support the bereaved families, with over 40 Rescue 1122 ambulances present at Jacobabad Airport. Injured pilgrims were set to receive medical treatment in their respective districts, with severe cases being transferred to Karachi via air ambulance.
Before their final journey home, funeral prayers were offered at Yazd Airport, attended by dignitaries from both Iran and Pakistan. This solemn event marked the end of a tragic chapter for the pilgrims and their families.
