The upcoming Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Food and Cultural Festival in Nigeria aims to promote food security, poverty alleviation, and zero tolerance for hunger across 16 ECOWAS countries. The festival, scheduled to be held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State from October 6 to 11, 2024, will bring together key players to address security challenges hindering farming and agricultural production.
The festival, hosted by Nigeria, is expected to bring economic benefits to the country. With activities such as a golf tournament, train carnival, and Miss ECOWAS Beauty Pageant planned, the theme of “Celebrating African Cultural Heritage for Peace and Development” highlights the importance of peace for progress.
Nigeria’s role as the host presents opportunities for economic growth through accommodation, transportation, and hospitality services. The festival will showcase diverse cuisines and cultural activities, attracting delegates from ECOWAS member countries and around the world.
With the support of key stakeholders and government agencies, the festival aims to initiate a food and cultural revolution that will drive development and harmony in the region.
Stay tuned for a week filled with food, culture, and celebration in Uyo this October!
