In a shocking incident, a lady constable of the Balochistan police was the victim of an alleged acid attack by her husband in Karachi’s Baldia Town. The suspect reportedly threw acid on his wife near the Khurshid Pura graveyard and then fled the scene, leaving the woman with burns on her face and chest.
The injured constable was rushed to the Burns Centre of the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital in Karachi, where she received treatment for her injuries. However, due to the severity of her burns, she was not in a state to provide a statement to the authorities.
Police officials, including the South Deputy Inspector General of Police, confirmed that the victim and the suspect were both from Balochistan, and efforts were underway to apprehend the perpetrator who was believed to have escaped to Quetta.
An eyewitness account from a security guard present at the scene has helped in reconstructing the events leading up to the attack. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to bring the culprit to justice.
