The Russian army advances towards Ukraine’s eastern city of Pokrovsk, causing civilians with small children and heavy suitcases to flee. With around 53,000 people still residing in Pokrovsk, local authorities issued evacuation orders due to fast-approaching Russian forces.
Families boarded trains and buses, carrying what they could, as soldiers and volunteers assisted those in need. The noise of Russian bombardments drove Natalya Ivaniuk and her daughters to flee their village, less than 10 kilometers from the front line.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk region aims to create a buffer zone and disrupt Kremlin military resources. Despite Russian advances, Ukraine continues to control parts of the region in defense.
With heavy battles ongoing, civilians seek refuge in western Ukraine, away from the escalating conflict. As Russia targets Donetsk and nearby areas, the situation remains tense with increased advancements and casualties on both sides.
In a separate tragedy, a pregnant woman lost her life in Donetsk due to Ukrainian shelling, while a fire caused by a drone debris in Proletarsk hospitalized multiple firefighters.
