Condemnation of Al-Aqsa Mosque Storming by Settlers

The recent storming of the al-Aqsa Mosque by over two thousand settlers, including members of Israel’s far-right government, has been strongly condemned by Abdullah Kanaan, the Secretary-General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs. Kanaan denounced these actions as part of ongoing Israeli crimes, including land confiscation and home demolitions, while provoking global sentiments.

He emphasized that these incursions by extremists are attempts to change the historical status quo in Jerusalem and Palestine, violating international law and peace demands. Kanaan highlighted the broader goal of imposing divisions at the mosque and ultimately demolishing al-Aqsa to construct the so-called “temple.”

Despite the biased stance of major powers, Kanaan called on the international community to halt Israeli aggression and adhere to the two-state solution. He asserted that peace and stability cannot be achieved through aggression and arrogance, while reaffirming Jordan’s support for the Palestinian people and their holy sites.
