Russian military personnel are currently being trained in Iran to operate the Fath-360 close-range ballistic missile system, with the imminent delivery of hundreds of these weapons expected for use in the war in Ukraine, according to European intelligence sources.
On Dec. 13, Russian defense ministry representatives reportedly signed a contract in Tehran with Iranian officials for the Fath-360 system, as well as another ballistic missile system called the Ababil. The systems are built by Iran’s government-owned Aerospace Industries Organization.
Intelligence sources revealed that Russian personnel have visited Iran to learn how to use the Fath-360, which has a maximum range of 120 km and a warhead of 150 kg. The sources indicated that the next step after training would likely be the actual delivery of the missiles to Russia.
