Raj Thackeray Accuses Pawar and Uddhav of Playing Caste Politics Amid Maratha Reservation Issue
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray criticized NCP (SP) leader Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray for allegedly using the Maratha reservation matter to incite unrest before the state Assembly polls. Thackeray questioned the actions of the BJP-led NDA government in providing reservation to the Maratha community.
During his state-wide tour, Thackeray accused Pawar and Uddhav of engaging in caste politics and attempting to disrupt his rallies. He also claimed that Muslim and Dalit votes went against PM Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha elections due to the Opposition’s stance on the Constitution.
Raj emphasized that Maharashtra does not require reservations and advocated for opportunities based on economic criteria. He criticized Pawar and Uddhav for allegedly provoking violence, particularly in Marathwada, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Health Concerns for Activist Jarange-Patil
Meanwhile, activist Manoj Jarange-Patil experienced health issues during a meeting in Satara, raising concerns after multiple hunger strikes. He was escorted for medical evaluation, highlighting the intensity of the reservation debate in Maharashtra.
