Under Secretary of the State Secretariat for Public Diplomacy Elizabeth Allen is embarking on a trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Serbia, Kosovo, and North Macedonia from May 12th to 20th to strengthen partnership relations with the countries of the Western Balkans and advance shared goals of regional cooperation and European integration, as announced by the State Department.
During her visit, Allen will emphasize democratic values and collaboration to protect free societies from negative influences. In Sarajevo, BiH, she will engage with students in the Leadership, English, and American Democracy program to foster shared values and community projects. She will also pay respects at the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
In Serbia, Allen will discuss enhancing the U.S.-Serbia relationship, media freedom, and present awards for investigative journalism. In Kosovo, she will meet with top government officials, visit U.S. service members at Camp Nothing Hill, and engage with STEM students at Rochester Institute of Technology. In North Macedonia, she will focus on countering malign influence, preserving cultural heritage, and boosting economic ties.
