BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 7: Kyrgyzstan has implemented a temporary ban on the export of oil and petroleum products beyond the Eurasian Economic Union’s territory by road to stabilize prices in the domestic market.
The ban, outlined in a government decree, does not apply to certain specific products, including fuel oil and petroleum items produced by Kyrgyzstan’s state-owned enterprise, Kyrgyzneftegaz, as well as AI-80 gasoline and heating oil from domestic refineries.
Scheduled to come into force fifteen days after publication, this measure continues a ban first introduced in March 2021 to regulate prices within the EAEU customs zone.
By controlling the export of oil and petroleum products, Kyrgyzstan aims to maintain stability and affordability in the local market, especially during uncertain economic times.
