The Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF) plans to file a complaint against the Urgence Palestine collective and French MP Sophia Chikirou for “apology for terrorism,” as reported by Le Parisien. French law defines this as endorsing terrorism or terrorist acts. Chikirou allegedly reposted posts from Urgence Palestine praising Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
UEJF’s statement accuses Chikirou and Urgence Palestine of glorifying terrorism and calls for the lifting of Chikirou’s parliamentary immunity. They will file a complaint with the National Counter-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office. Haniyeh, leader of Hamas, was recently killed in Tehran.
COMMUNIQUÉ: UEJF files a complaint against @chikirouparis and Urgence Palestine for terrorism apology. Giving Haniyeh the title of “martyr” and “resistor” is supporting terrorism. We seek justice. @SachaGhozlan pic.twitter.com/stKuvd8Jnd
