The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited is on track to increase crude oil production to two million barrels per day by the end of the year. With production already up from 1.27 million barrels in June to 1.6 million in July, the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Mele Kyari, is confident in achieving this target. During a meeting with Maritime Stakeholders, Kyari expressed his commitment to reaching the goal and emphasized the importance of continued efforts against oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, highlighted the security challenges faced by Nigeria and the need for collaboration to address issues such as violent agitations, oil theft, and piracy/sea robbery. Recognizing the importance of security in promoting business activities, Ogalla emphasized the Navy’s role in supporting operators and ensuring a conducive environment for production.
