Yemeni political parties recently expressed their dissatisfaction with foreign interventions and the international community’s stance on the peace process in Yemen. During a meeting in Amman, Jordan, with the Southern Transitional Council, the parties criticized the peace roadmap agreed upon by Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, stating their rejection and lack of information about the proposed plan.
Emphasizing their commitment to economic decisions, particularly regarding the Central Bank, the parties condemned the actions of the UN envoy and Riyadh for allegedly favoring the Houthis and bypassing legitimacy. They called for adherence to existing agreements and UN Security Council resolutions.
Representatives at the meeting also criticized the international community’s handling of the Yemen crisis, highlighting the need for international peacekeeping forces to counter the Houthi militia’s reckless actions. They stressed the importance of military action as the most effective solution against the growing influence of the Houthis in Yemen and the region.
The United States reportedly rejected a peace roadmap proposed by Saudi Arabia, further complicating the already complex peace process in Yemen.
