International Dignitaries Gather in Tehran for President Pezeshkian’s Inauguration
High-ranking officials from countries around the world have arrived in Tehran to witness the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian. Delegates from Cuba, Columbia, Mongolia, Malta, and several other nations will attend the ceremony at the Iranian parliament where Pezeshkian will be sworn in as the new president. Over 70 foreign representatives are expected to participate in the event, which will be broadcast live on state television.
Following his victory in the presidential election, Pezeshkian was formally endorsed by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei. In his acceptance speech, Pezeshkian pledged to prioritize fairness, justice, and unity in serving the people of Iran. Ayatollah Khamenei described Pezeshkian as a competent and scholarly president, urging support for his government.
With a voter turnout of nearly 50 percent, Pezeshkian won over 16 million votes in the election, succeeding President Ebrahim Raeisi who tragically passed away earlier this year.
