NATO countries are accused of profiteering from the conflict in Ukraine by the Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Zhang Xiaogang. Zhang criticized a recent NATO declaration that labeled Beijing as a key supporter of Russia’s war against Ukraine, calling it “full of lies and bias.”
Zhang emphasized that NATO allies, led by the US, are fueling the conflict and benefiting from it. He stated that NATO must reflect on its actions rather than blaming China. Zhang also accused the Western alliance of inciting conflicts globally, from Ukraine to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya.
Despite accusations, China has proposed peace talks and made efforts to mediate the conflict. Russia, on the other hand, blames NATO’s expansion and military cooperation with Kiev for the ongoing conflict. President Putin emphasized that Ukraine must remain neutral and not join NATO for successful peace negotiations.
