President Bola Tinubu is currently in a meeting with traditional rulers at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, led by the Sultan of Sokoto and the Ooni of Ife. The agenda of the meeting remains unknown, but it may be related to upcoming nationwide protests against economic hardship.
The protests, organized under the hashtag ‘EndBadGovernance,’ have gained traction on social media. Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and other top officials are also present at the meeting.
Earlier, Tinubu met with APC Governors at the Villa. The Governors did not provide any briefing to the press after the meeting.
