أكدت وزارة الخارجية، اليوم الأربعاء، أن الحكومة تعمل على تعزیز التعاون بمجال مكافحة الهجرة غیر النظامیة، فيما بينت أنها تتفاعل في المحافل الدولیة والمؤتمرات بموضوع الهجرة غیر النظامیة.
وقال وكيل وزارة الخارجية لشؤون التخطيط السياسي، هشام العلوي لوكالة الأنباء العراقية (واع): “لا توجد هنالك اتفاقات خاصة بالهجرة مع الدول، لكن الحكومة العراقیة تعمل على تعزیز التعاون في مجال مكافحة الهجرة غیر النظامیة، ورعایة المواطنین العراقیین في الخارج بموجب الصكوك الدولیة والمواثیق الأممیة لحقوق الإنسان”.
وأضاف أن “الحكومة تتفاعل في المحافل الدولیة والمؤتمرات الخاصة بموضوع الهجرة غیر النظامیة بشكل خاص، وتتابع التطورات التي تطرأ على قوانین الهجرة في العالم”.
وبين أن “الحكومة استجابت بشكل عاجل لإعادة العراقیین العالقین على الحدود في بعض الدول عن طریق إیفاد فرق دبلوماسیة لإصدار وثائق السفر وإعادتهم الى العراق عن طریق تسییر رحلات استثنائیة للخطوط الجویة العراقیة”.
ولفت إلى أن “السفارات العراقية تستجیب لحوادث الغرق المتكررة في الدول الأوروبیة التي يذهب ضحيتها عشرات المواطنین، آخرها حادثة الغرق على الشواطئ الإیطالیة، إذ قامت سفارتنا في روما بالتعاون مع السلطات الإیطالیة من اجل نقل جثامین المتوفین وإعادة العراقیین الناجین الى العراق بعد الفاجعة المریرة”.
