أكد رئيس الجمهورية، عبد اللطيف جمال رشيد، اليوم الأربعاء، أن لبغداد الأحقية بأن تكون عاصمة للسياحة العربية.
وذكرت الدائرة الإعلامية لرئاسة الجمهورية في بيان تلقته وكالة الأنباء العراقية (واع)، أن “رئيس الجمهورية استقبل في قصر بغداد، رئيس المنظمة العربية للسياحة بندر بن فهد آل فهيد ووفد المنظمة المرافق له”، لافتا إلى أنه “تم التأكيد خلال اللقاء، على أهمية التنسيق والتعاون لتأهيل الأماكن السياحية والتراثية وتعزيز السياحة البينية”.
وقال رئيس الجمهورية، بحسب البيان: إن “اختيار بغداد عاصمة للسياحة العربية لعام 2025 سيكون إبرازاً لهويتها العظيمة، وتجسيداً لتأريخها المضيء وإرثها الحضاري، وتعزيزاً لدورها على خارطة المقاصد السياحية”، مضيفاً أن “الأمن والاستقرار الذي يشهده العراق أسهم في تعزيز قطاع السياحة، فضلاً عن التنوع السياحي الذي يتميز به”، مرحباً بـ”مقترح إنشاء أكاديمية للسياحة العربية في بغداد”.
وأوضح البيان أن “الوفد الضيف قدم شرحاً مفصلاً عن طبيعة عمل المنظمة وجهودها خلال الفترة الماضية، والأنشطة والمشاريع التي أشرفت على تنفيذها دعماً لبرامج تنمية السياحة في المنطقة”، مشيراً إلى أن “الوفد أشاد بالتطورات الإيجابية التي يشهدها العراق وقدرته على مواجهة التحديات المختلفة”.
