The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation of Afghanistan reports that dozens of Afghan families have been expelled from Iran and Pakistan and have returned to the country.
The ministry stated that 174 Afghan families have re-entered the country through Kandahar, Nangarhar, Nimroz, and Herat after being expelled.
According to the statement also stated that the returnees have been referred to local and international aid organizations for assistance.
It is noteworthy that the forced deportation of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries, particularly Iran and Pakistan, has significantly increased in recent months.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Refugees also reported the expulsion of dozens of families and their return to Afghanistan.
The ongoing expulsions are part of a broader trend affecting thousands of Afghan families who have been living in neighboring countries due to instability in Afghanistan.
The surge in deportations has put significant pressure on Afghanistan’s limited resources, particularly as these returnees seek shelter, food, and medical aid.
The local organizations, along with humanitarian organizations, is working to provide support to these families, but the growing number of returnees continues to strain efforts.
