‘False and inaccurate’: Ricky Olarenshaw breaks silence on Bali brothel scandal

Exclusive: Former AFL player Ricky Olarenshaw has broken his silence over the Bali brothel scandal involving his estranged wife.

The 1993 Essendon premiership player returned to Australia 10 weeks ago, before his ex-wife Nitha Olarenshaw was arrested after raids on Bali massage parlour Flame Spa took place.

Mrs Olarenshaw is facing up to 12 years’ jail for being listed as the owner of the Seminyak business police allege was offering sex services to tourists.

Last week she lost a bid to be freed from jail after her lawyers claimed she was framed as the owner of Flame Spa, which was actually owned by four Australian men, including Mr Olarenshaw.

There is no suggestion Mr Olarenshaw was aware of the allegedly illegal activity.

9News understands Mr Olarenshaw is now living on the Gold Coast, where he exclusively told 9News his main priorities are his two children, who remain in Bali with relatives.

“It’s a delicate and complicated situation,” Mr Olarenshaw told 9News.

“Her business is under investigation with Indonesian authorities at the moment and being a legal matter I really can’t comment further on that.

“A lot that’s been reported has been false and inaccurate which has been frustrating and disappointing,” he said.

“The focus now is to just get reunited with my children.”
