Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Para Table Tennis sensation Najlah Imad has been named to Forbes Middle East’s 30 Under 30 list for 2024 in the Sports & Entertainment category. At just 19 years old, Imad has achieved remarkable milestones, cementing her place as a trailblazer for athletes with disabilities in the region.
Imad started playing para table tennis in 2015, and she quickly became well-known. She demonstrated her extraordinary talent and commitment by earning a berth in the Iraqi national league by 2018.
Imad became Iraq’s first female Paralympic gold winner with her historic victory in the WS6 women’s singles event at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. This historic triumph comes after she placed eighth in the same category in the Paralympics in Tokyo in 2020. Imad further cemented her status as a dominant force in the sport by winning gold in the class 6 singles at the 2022 Asian Para Games in China.
Forbes Middle East’s 30 Under 30 list honors the region’s most innovative and influential young leaders. The 2024 edition includes 120 outstanding persons divided into four categories: commerce and finance, sports and entertainment, science and technology, and social impact.
