Officials from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation reported that nearly 200 Afghan families have been deported from Pakistan and Iran, returning to Afghanistan through various border points.
According to Bakhtar News Agency on Saturday, November 16, a total of 169 Afghan families entered the country via the provinces of Kandahar, Nangarhar, Nimroz, and Herat.
Ministry officials stated that these families received initial assistance upon their return. They have also been referred to domestic and international aid organizations for further support.
This development comes as the deportation of Afghan refugees from Iran and Pakistan has significantly increased in recent months, raising concerns about the welfare of returnees.
The Islamic Republic of Iran recently announced plans to deport two million undocumented Afghan refugees by the end of the year, intensifying the repatriation process.
Similarly, the Pakistani government has escalated efforts to remove Afghan refugees without proper residency documentation, resulting in large-scale returns to Afghanistan.
The forced return of Afghan families highlights the increasing pressures faced by refugees in neighboring countries. Many returnees struggle to reintegrate into Afghanistan, where economic challenges and limited resources compound their difficulties.
